Lee County Shooting

On February 24, 2020, the Lee County Sheriff's Department was dispatched to A 1 Tire Company located at 2856 Hwy 178 in the Skyline Community to a possible shooting. The caller stated that multiple people had been shot at this location. 

Upon arrival Deputies and Investigators found two persons who had been shot. The scene was processed for evidence and weapons used in the incident were found. It was determined a Terrance Deon Shumpert along with a Clyde Wallace were found on scene both suffering from gunshot wounds. A person of interest was also still on scene and taken into custody. 

During the course of the investigation it appears that a verbal altercation began and escalated into gunfire being exchanged. Terrance Deon Shumpert was shot and later died at the NMMC. Clyde Wallace was taken to the NMMC and underwent surgery and condition is unknown at this time. The investigation is ongoing will be presented to the Lee County Grand Jury once the investigation is complete.
