Betts Conviction

Latavious Betts, 19 years of age, plead guilt today in Lee County Circuit Court to the charges of:  
Second Degree Murder
Aggravated Assault

In December 2018, Latavious Betts did commit a drive by shooting in Lee County MS that resulted in one aggravated assault and one fatality. 

The Lee County Sheriff’s Department worked with District Attorney John Weddle, Assistant District Attorney Brian Neely, and his staff in bringing this case to this point 

Circuit Judge John White sentenced Mr. Betts to 40 years and it is to be served day for day.  There are also court cost and fees that will apply.
