The Lee County Sheriff’s Department is investigating a fire that occurred on Hwy 370 near Brice’s Crossroads. On Tuesday, June 9, 2015 at 2:38am, Lee County 911 dispatched emergency personnel to a structure fire on Hwy 370 west of Baldwyn near Brice’s Crossroads.
Once emergency personnel arrived on the scene, they discovered a 26 year old female, a 1 1/2 year old male and a 2 month old male that had been able to get out of the home but had received injuries. Emergency personnel entered the home and found a severely injured 7 year old female in the bedroom.

The 2 month old was transported to NMMC – Released
The 26 year old was transported to the Med in Memphis – Released.
The 1 1/2 was transported to Le Bonheur – Released.
The 7 year old was transported to Le Bonheur – Deceased

Once the 7 year old was transported she was treated for multiple burns to the face and arms. She suffered from severe internal injuries due to smoke and heat.
We were contacted on Friday by LeBonheur that the injuries sustained by the child were life threatening. Monday morning LeBonheur stated that the child had died.
The Lee County Sheriff’s Department and the MS State Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the fire.
