During a joint investigation on Thursday, May 15, 2014, with the Woodstock, AL Police Department, it was discovered that numerous stolen construction and lawn care type equipment had been stolen from across the southeast and sold in the Lee County, MS area. The identity of the suspect involved was determined to be James Churchill residing in the Mooreville, MS area. It has been determined that throughout the investigation that Churchill allegedly stole various pieces of equipment from around the southeastern United States, and then sold to various individuals throughout the area.
The recovery of stolen items is ongoing and anyone who purchased items from Churchill is asked to contact the Lee County Sheriff’s Office at 662-680-5766.
Churchill is currently being held in AL awaiting extradition back to Lee County.
The estimated value to date of recoved value of property is over $300,000.
